Trainee Travel Awards

How to Apply

To encourage residents and PM fellows to join APM, attend the annual meeting, and eventually become new leaders of the Academy, a limited number of monetary awards are given to residents and/or PM fellows to help offset the cost of attending the annual meeting. Our annual meeting is the best opportunity for residents and fellows to get access to groundbreaking information in PM today, as well as to get introduced to the Academy.

The APM Council determines the dollar amount and number of awards each year. Selections are made from those whose abstracts are accepted for the annual meeting as well has from individual applications.

To apply for a Trainee Travel Award, submit the Trainee Travel Award Application [PDF] by August 1. The application must be accompanied by:

A letter from your home institution commenting on availability of funding from the home institution.
An essay, of no more than 500 words, explaining your interest and future plans in psychosomatic medicine.

Note that if you submitted an abstract for the 2011 Annual Meeting, please include the abstract's title.
A letter of recommendation from your C-L Chief, or C-L Fellowship Director.
